Last December, we came across a rumor suggesting that Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) would appear in a cameo during the post-credits scene for James Mangold's Logan. However, the rumor was shot down three times in a row in less than 24 hours – first by Reynolds, then by Mangold, and lastly by Hugh Jackman.
Film critics recently had the opportunity to watch the third and final Wolverine installment. They revealed that the version 20th Century Fox showed them didn't feature a mid-credits or post-credits sequence. This led us to believe that the movie might be eschewing that particular superhero movie trend.
However, despite the fact that the critics didn’t see it, it now appears that Logan might have a post-credits scene, after all. According to Mike Sampson, Alamo Drafthouse's senior marketing and promotions manager, the studio has updated the movie's run time, and it’s three minutes longer than the version the press viewed. Check out his tweet:
Let the secret post-credits scene speculation begin: Fox just updated LOGAN run time to 3 minutes longer than version screened this week

Three minutes may be just enough time for a post-credits sequence. We should note that Fox didn't show the X-Men: Apocalypse post-credits scene at its press screening, but they eventually added it to the theatrical cut. So it wouldn't be an unprecedented move for the studio.
We’ll find out in two weeks whether Logan will have a post-credits scene, but it may not be that big a disappointment if it doesn’t. The March 3, 2017 release currently has an approval rating of 96% on Rotten Tomatoes, with an average rating of 8.2 out of 10.
Critics are calling Logan the best Wolverine movie to date. Many of them feel that it’s also the best X-Men movie, and some even say it's the best superhero movie of all time. Here are some of the TV spots launched this week:
