While we still haven't had the chance to see an Incredible Hulk sequel, the Jade Giant has made his presence felt in the MCU, becoming a fan-favorite after Mark Ruffalo replaced Edward Norton. Thor: Ragnarok will adapt (in part) the Planet Hulk storyline, so Kevin Feige's words may turn out to be true - by the time the Infinity War ends, we’ll feel like we’ve already seen the second Hulk solo flick.
Speaking of Avengers: Infinity War, quite a few characters are already confirmed to appear, including Brie Larson's Captain Marvel and all of the Guardians of the Galaxy. According to CBM, Karen Gillan will also make an appearance as Nebula, which makes sense, given her character’s connection to Thanos and her new alliance in Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2.
However, CBM also reports that another actress will appear, one whose character had an intense relationship with Bruce Banner. Citing the Scottish Daily Record, the website says that Liv Tyler will return to the MCU as Betty Ross. We haven't seen this character since The Incredible Hulk, nor have we heard her name mentioned since.
But this is good news, if it turns out to be true. And that’s because many fans felt that Banner's romance with Black Widow seemed forced, despite the chemistry between Mark Ruffalo and Scarlett Johansson.
If Betty Ross returns, this will establish yet another connection between The Incredible Hulk and the larger MCU, after the Captain America: Civil War appearance of General Thaddeus E. “Thunderbolt” Ross (who is portrayed by William Hurt).
We do wonder whether these will be the only characters from the Hulk solo flick to return, since Abomination is also alive somewhere, while the movie's finale teased the appearance of the Leader. Maybe these two supervillains could help Thanos in some way.
