Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 – First Look at EGO in Funko Toy Form!

New images featuring Funko collectibles for Ego in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 have arrived!

James Gunn may be reluctant to offer us a first look at Kurt Russell's Ego the Living Planet in his human form, but we can still get an idea of what the character will look like in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 from new images of the character as a toy!

Funko has unveiled the first look at the POP! and DORBZ collectibles for Ego. While the character has always appeared in his planetary form in the comics, he will appear in the May 5, 2017 release in a humanoid guise. In the movie, Chris Pratt's Peter Quill, aka Star-Lord, will discover that his father is none other than Kurt Russell's character. Ego also raised Pom Klementieff's Mantis - another character that Gunn is set to introduce in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Here are the images for you (via Pop Vinyl)!

One thing these toys clearly indicate is that Ego will sport a grizzled beard in the fifteenth Marvel Cinematic Universe installment. Many have already guessed that, considering the fact that Kurt Russell is playing the part! However, the toys don't offer a very detailed conception of the character's costume. But do we actually need that, after seeing the costume itself on display at last year's San Diego Comic-Con International? In case you haven't seen it yet, check it out below (via Agent M)!

To date, Marvel Studios has released two trailers for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, but neither featured a single glimpse of Ego. But since the second trailer offered our first look at Mantis, perhaps the next one will feature Kurt Russell's character. However, the studio may prefer that we wait until the movie hits the theaters. At this moment, we can't be certain.
