The first Guardians of the Galaxy featured a heap of Easter-Eggs, some of which haven't been discovered or completely deciphered to this day. The Nathan Fillion cameo isn't one of them - the Serenity actor appeared briefly as the giant blue inmate disposed of by Rocket and Groot. That wasn't the last time we saw Nathan Fillion in the MCU though, because James Gunn has already cast him for another cameo - or, at least, we think so.
New photos were leaked from the Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. II set, photos that reveal what role Nathan Fillion will have in the sequel. He will be none other than Simon Williams, also known in the comics as Wonder Man. We doubt, though, that the Castle actor will appear as the supervillain turned superhero in the movie.
The Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. II photos show several posters teasing Simon Williams, who is an actor featured in movies such as Tony Stark (a biographic movie, obviously), Arkon (who is an actual Marvel character), Haxan 2 (a sequel to a 1922 Danish movie), and Oh, Rebecca (a romantic comedy, most likely).
Apparently, Simon Williams is a well-known movie star in the MCU, with an entire movie festival dedicated to him.
The biggest question at this moment is if Guardians of the Galaxy 2 will visit Earth. Most likely it won't happen, and these posters are seen just in flashbacks. And if that’s true, then which one of the Guardians of the Galaxy heroes (or villains) has memories of a Tony Stark biopic?
Most likely the appearance of Nathan Fillion in the movie won't be limited to just these posters. But, at the same time, there’s no chance that he'll become Wonder Man. What do you think?
