Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2 is just a couple of months away from being released, and with the introduction of a couple of new characters, James Gunn seems to have yet another hit on his hands. The villains may not be as powerful as Ronan and his minions, but the team will need all the extra help they can get. Enter Nebula, Yondu, and Mantis.
While we met Nebula and Yondu in the previous flick, Mantis is new to the MCU. According to actress Pom Klementieff, the character has been lonely throughout her life, with only Ego as a companion, until she meets the Guardians.
We already knew that, but according to a new report, we’ve learned something new about Mantis. Her social awkwardness will bring her closer to Drax than to anybody else:
They get along. They just "” there is a friendship going on and they just click, you know? (via CBM)
Given her empathic powers, she might be the only one to actually get Drax. Does this mean that a romance will be born between the two of them? The actress didn't want to reveal that, saying that the fans will see when the movie is released.
If it happens, it will be a pretty peculiar relationship, especially since Drax's main reason for joining the Guardians was to avenge the deaths of his family. Given the fact that Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2 will take place a couple of months after the first movie, was this enough time for him to forget? We doubt it.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2 will be released on the 5th of May. And we'll be there to see it!
