James Gunn confirmed on Facebook that GOTG Vol.2 will have no Infinity Stones
It seems that the director was straightforward with his approach to the movie. So, GOTG Vol. 2 will strictly focus on the Guardians.
"There will be no Infinity Stones in Vol. 2," Gunn revealed on his Facebook page. "There will be infinity nothing. It's a story about the Guardians, and isn't meant to lead to anything else."
Now we wonder where are we going to see Thanos, as James Gunn declared Guardians of the Galaxy a standalone movie. Maybe Doctor Strange, or Thor: Ragnarok will reveal more?
Marvel revealed the essence of the Guardians of the Galaxy story in their recently released synopsis:
