Fox is Making a STAN LEE Action Adventure Movie!

Fox is making an action adventure movie with Stan Lee as the main character!

Stan Lee may have had cameo appearances in loads of Marvel Comics based movies, but it appears that he will be getting his own standalone movie soon! According to The Hollywood Reporter, 20th Century Fox, the studio that has been making the X-Men and Fantastic Four movies, has acquired the life rights to the 93-year-old creator of numerous Marvel superheroes, with the goal of making a period action-adventure.

The Stan Lee movie won't be a biopic, but rather "an adventure with Lee as the main character". It will be set in the 1970s, and its tone will be similar to that of Kingsman: The Secret Service and Roger Moore's James Bond movies. Those movies are known for having "dapper heroes who quipped one-liners - and, in Moore's case, flirted with the ladies - as they sparred with larger-than-life evildoers".

The studio has brought on Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey, the producers of movies like Twilight, The Maze Runner, and the upcoming Power Rangers reboot, to produce the project. Stan Lee, along with his POW! Entertainment partner Gill Champion, will serve as executive producers.

Fox is yet to hire a writer to pen the Stan Lee movie's story. So, the outlet cautions that the existing details on the movie could morph. The studio has put Matt Reilly in charge of overseeing the project on their behalf.

Pairing up with artists like Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko, Stan Lee created many of the most iconic Marvel characters, including Spider-Man, Captain America, Iron Man, Daredevil, X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Hulk.

Since Bryan Singer's 2000 flick X-Men, Lee has appeared in almost all of the Marvel movies. He’s played a variety of characters, ranging from a librarian to a mental ward patient to a stripclub MC to a FedEx delivery man. But, Lee as the main character of an action adventure movie is something that has never happened.
