Thor: Ragnarok is currently looking at a US opening weekend take of more than $100 million, a major improvement over the previous Thor movies. In addition, Thor: Ragnarok sits at a comfortable 98% on Rotten Tomatoes, making it 2017’s favorite comic book movie.
So it’s understandable that some of its breakthrough characters might join future Marvel Cinematic Universe flicks, rather than Thor solo movies.
The first reviews for the film almost unanimously praised the cast, and cited Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie as one of the movie’s biggest breakthroughs. But she isn't the only character who steals the show. Kevin Feige pointed to two others who will also have MCU careers (Thompson will appear in Infinity War, as well):
We have plans for Korg and Miek. When and where, we’ll have to wait and see, but we, like the audience now that they’ve seen them, can’t get enough (via Comic Book).
Rumor has it that Avengers 4 will adapt the World War Hulk storyline, so we could see Korg (voiced by Taika Waititi) and Miek sooner than we expected.
This was obviously another opportunity for Waititi to joke about his dual roles as director and actor:
Yes, it all depends on whether they can meet Taika Waititi the actor’s exorbitant fees, because Korg is now established in this film, and if you want Korg you have to"¦cash up. The actor version doesn't work without the director version.
It sure sounds like a lot of fun! If you haven't caught a glimpse of Korg yet, check out the clip below:
Thor: Ragnarok will be released on November 3.
