Doctor Strange (Coming Soon)

The international press tour for Doctor Strange just started in Hong Kong, and the film’s international premiere is accompanied by spoilers regarding its post-credits material. Read on only if you want to know about this before Strange debuts in the US on November 4!

There are two scenes after the movie"”one in the middle of the credits and one at the end. The mid-credits scene features Thor (Chris Hemsworth) meeting with Dr. Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch). Strange offers a Thor a deal: He’ll help Thor find Odin, but only if Thor and Loki agree to return to Asgard permanently, leaving Earth behind. Thor agrees, setting up the events of Thor: Ragnarok.

And in the scene at the end of the credits, Baron Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor) establishes himself as a villain when he steals the mystical powers from a character played by Benjamin Bratt, who was cured of paralysis using magic earlier in the film. Mordo announces, “There are too many sorcerers,” positioning himself in competition with Strange, who has officially become the Sorcerer Supreme.

These two scenes work well to set up Ragnarok and a more-than-likely sequel to Doctor Strange. Just a few more weeks until you can see them in theaters!
