Doctor Strange – Is That the Time Stone?

Doctor Strange

Doctor Strange will certainly be a trippy movie - as the Comic Con trailer showcased, the entire world will be bent by some very powerful magic users. Literally. And this will be a first, since nobody in the MCU has used real magic before. You can argue that Scarlet Witch is a sorceress, but her powers are still technology based. After all, she did get them from an experiment with an Infinity Stone.

Speaking of which, a couple of new pics from Doctor Strange have emerged. And while one of them furthers the idea of a multiverse, the other one may feature another of the coveted Infinity Stones.

Of course, we all know at this point that the green-glowing amulet is the Eye of Agamotto, one of Doctor Strange's most powerful artifacts. But we have been wrong before - after all, the Mind Stone was encased in Loki's scepter for so long"¦

And there is also another hint that the Time Stone will be featured in Doctor Strange - a hint in the trailer. At about 1:38, right after the change your destiny card, you can hear the Ancient One saying, "I've spent so many years, peering through time, looking for you." You may say that this is a line taken out of context, but still.

Last December, during an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Kevin Feige himself said that the Eye of Agamotto can change time, this being a central part of the first Doctor Strange movie:

In this film, the Eye is a very important relic that can be quite dangerous if used in the wrong hands, because it has the ability to do any number of things, the most dangerous of which is it can sort of manipulate probabilities. Which is also another way of saying, “screw around with time” "” which is part of our story.

So what do you think? Is the Eye of Agamotto the Time Stone?

If so, will Doctor Strange be deprived of one of his most powerful artifacts after the Infinity War?
