Directors Explain the Start of Captain America: Civil War!

Captain America: Civil War

LESS THAN FOUR MONTHS remain before Captain America: Civil War hits the theaters! The Earth's Mightiest Heroes whom we've seen so far fighting together will be standing against each other! New superheroes will emerge and join the old ones! It might be called a "˜Captain America' movie but it involves a huge section of the Marvel Cinematic Universe!

Good news is that we have a new interview of the directors of Captain America: Civil War - Anthony and Joe Russo, aka the Russo Brothers! In the interview they have explained exactly how much time has passed when the movie starts from the previous movie - Avengers: Age of Ultron. Here's what Joe Russo, on behalf of his brother as well, said (via ComicBook):

"We like to say that the amount of time that has passed in between films is the amount of time that has passed in the movies.

He went on to add that at the start of Captain America: Civil War, we see Steve Rogers leading the Avengers. He especially mentioned that Chris Evans' character is found "˜tutoring or mentoring' Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch at the outset and "˜bringing her into the fold'. We get to see them "˜on a mission' right at the beginning of the upcoming MCU flick.

We can pretty much assume from the first trailer of the movie that the massacre Ultron caused has made situations very different and difficult for the Avengers. Joe claimed that the effect that James Spader's villainous A.I. has had on them is central to their storytelling and is "˜very strong'. He explained:

"We’re dealing with issues of collateral damage, imperialism, what rights do super heroes have to pursue villains across borders. It’s very politically minded. Cap’s dealing with all of that at the beginning.

Captain America: Civil War to Create a Very Profound Seismic Shift!

Civil War

You might not be ready for what Civil War brings!

It's meaningless to ask them what things happen within the movie - that's something no director would want to answer. But asking about the impact that Captain America: Civil War is going to have on the MCU might get something out of them - at least indications on what events might happen. ComicBook asked so and here's how Joe responded:

"It’s going to be more evolved than it ever has been with in any of the films. Winter Soldier created a seismic shift in terms of the world of the Marvel Universe. This is going to create a seismic shift in the psychology of the character which is more profound. It’s a very profound shift.

The Russo Brothers directed the last Captain America movie - The Winter Soldier. And they will helm the next pair of Avengers movies - Infinity War: Part One and Part Two. According to Joe Russo, since they are engaged in "˜serialized storytelling', they feel that those four movies have "˜a very profound effect' on the spectators. He further explained:

"I think a lot of shocking things are going to happen, which is really interesting because you haven’t had this kind of… maybe other than Harry Potter, I guess you can count the Bond series"¦ but the kind of investment over a period of time with this many characters behaving in a universe.

And here's his concluding statement that seems more like a tease:

"I don’t know if people will be prepared for what this movie is going to include.
