Negasonic Teenage Warhead was introduced in the first Deadpool movie. However, except for her name, pretty much everything was changed from the comics.
But this didn't upset the hardcore fans. On the contrary, with her new set of skills, Negasonic Teenage Warhead was one of the highlights of the movie. The character then returned this year, in Deadpool 2. Unfortunately, it wasn’t developed too much.
Other than having a girlfriend, not much was said about her.
But this could have been different - much different - if Deadpool 2 wasn't directed by David Leitch. Leitch signed to direct only after Tim Miller stepped away. And, according to the newest reveals, Miller had a different story arc in store for Negasonic Teenage Warhead.
Present at the MCM London Comic Con, actress Brianna Hildebrand talked about her character and what Tim Miller wanted for her future. In this way, she revealed that the director wanted for Negasonic Teenage Warhead to become a villain in the sequel.
Unfortunately, it didn't pan out, with Miller's exit. Furthermore, from what could have been a major role, Negasonic was relegated. The only development she received was the reveal of her sexuality.
"I feel like every time I wish for something specific, maybe it doesn't happen, or the opposite happens. I know that we switched directors for the second film, but I remember after the first film was over, Tim was like, "˜Wouldn't it be great if your character was a villain next time?' And I was like, "˜That would be sick, yeah, sure, why not?' And that's definitely not the way that it went [laughs]." (Red Carpet TV News)
For the moment, there is no word about a third Deadpool movie. However, the actress did express her interest in such a development for the character.
