In an interview earlier this month, Ryan Reynolds shared that he would like to see his Deadpool and Hugh Jackman's Wolverine in a movie together again. It seems that his wish is coming true"¦well, at least partially! While the two characters might not have a scene together, they will reportedly appear in the same movie, and that movie is James Mangold's Logan!
According to The Wrap's Umberto Gonzalez, Reynolds has already shot a cameo as the Merc with a Mouth for the third and final Wolverine installment. But it wasn’t Mangold who called the shots for the scene. Rather, David Leitch, who was appointed as the director of Deadpool 2 after Tim Miller's exit, was at the helm for the cameo.
The report suggests that the cameo will most likely end up as a post-credits scene for Logan. No further details on the cameo have been revealed. We should also take this with a grain of salt, as 20th Century Fox hasn't made an official comment.
But even if the report is true, it doesn't feel like we’d get to see Reynolds and Jackman's characters together in that scene. It appears that it’s something totally unrelated to the events of the March 3, 2017 release"¦maybe something like the Deadpool post-credits scene.
UPDATE: Ryan Reynolds has debunked the rumor via his official Twitter account! Check out his tweet below!
Sadly, not true. Prisoner 24601 is on a solo mission. https://t.co/5czBmMRfY1
