Deadpool’s Face

Thanks to his cockiness, bravado and general good spirits, it’s very easy to forget that Deadpool is horrifically deformed underneath his mask.
He is covered from head to toe in cancerous tumours. On the upside, his healing factor is such that it actually cures his cancer as it forms. However, on the downside, the resulting masses formed by the tumours don’t actually die or go away.
Having Deadpool remove his mask to reveal his terribly scarred face would work on two levels; First, for shock value. Those viewers not familiar with the character from the comic books would not be expecting him to look like he does under his mask. Second, it would show a vulnerable side to the character that would give the movie some extra depth and viewers would look at Deadpool very differently after seeing what he actually has to deal with every day.
Essentially, Deadpool’s actual appearance is a key aspect of his character and it must be shown on screen.
