It took ten years to tell the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Infinity War backstory, and the blockbuster turned out to be the longest MCU film to date. But this story isn't over yet, because Thanos and the Infinity Stones will return in 2019’s Avengers 4!
Following Infinity War’s shocking ending, it’s easy to understand why so few official details about the sequel have come to light. We also understand how difficult it is for the stars of these films to avoid disclosing any details. But leaks always happen, and Dave Bautista recently gave away some information during a recent interview.
Infinity War spoilers below!
Thanos snapped his fingers and erased half the life in the universe at Infinity War’s conclusion. It was a shock to see superheroes with confirmed solo sequels meet their deaths (yes, even Spider-Man). We can be certain that they’ll be back, although we don't know how that will be accomplished. Unfortunately, there may be some who won’t return.
The fate of Dave Bautista's Drax, who’s a highlight of every movie he’s appeared in, was similarly up in the air. The studio already announced that Guardians of the Galaxy 3 is in the works, we couldn’t be sure that Bautista would appear. And we all know that cast rosters are subject to change.
But the wrestler-turned-actor revealed that Drax will be back during a recent interview with Collider! Plus, the superhero will survive Avengers 4 and go on to appear in Guardians of the Galaxy 3:
I got a lot of texts saying, “I can’t believe you’re dead, your character is dead.” They were really like heartbroken, and I was like, “I’m gonna be in [Avengers 4]. I’m gonna be in Guardians 3.” I don’t know how they’re bringing me back, but somehow I’m going to make it, because – as far as I know – I am going to be in Guardians 3, so I have to be back.
