A couple of weeks ago, people began speculating over the Internet about which heroes who are about to die in Captain America: Civil War. The rumor began when the Russo brothers said that there will be serious consequences to every action depicted in this movie, just as it happens every time a civil war breaks out. And this statement was paired with another rumor, which said that the directors have already shot three death scenes for the movie, but intended to use only one of them.
Which one was it? You can read about it below, after the Super Bowl teaser for Captain America: Civil War. But be warned: a giant spoiler is coming your way!
The rumor we previously talked about concerned the deaths of three characters, with the directors having to decide which of the three will be used in the movie. Thus, death scenes for War Machine, Scarlet Witch, and (obviously) Captain America have already been shot. Now, Geek.com comes and airs this rumor, saying that only one character was intended to die in the first place.
Take this with a grain of salt, obviously, but that character is Captain America. According to the website, the directors have shot two different endings. In the first one, Steve Rogers and his team go off the radar. In the second one, Crossbones snipes him, just like in the Fallen Son storyline (Fallen Son was also Civil War's working title). It isn't known at this moment whether Crossbones had an accomplice or not.
According to the report, the Russo brothers are using this second ending.
But does this mean that Captain America will miss the Infinity War? Not at all. The website also came up with another scoop, saying that Sebastian Stan was already fitted with his own Captain America suit. Which means that the new Captain will be the Winter Soldier. And since Bucky Barnes has been pictured on film plenty of times wielding the shield, we should have seen this coming - also, the actor has a nine-picture deal with Marvel, so"¦
Chris Evans will, nonetheless, return for the Infinity War, since he still has another movie on his contract after Captain America: Civil War. Will he appear in flashbacks? Or will he be resurrected via one of the Infinity Stones? At this point, even if this goes against everything we know and everything the fans want, we actually want for him to appear just in flashbacks. We don't need another fake death.
What do you think, though?
Will the Civil War be the end of Steve Rogers?
