So, the question goes like this: “Has James Gunn told you about Star Lord’s stat yet? Do you know anything?”

And the answer comes readily: “I know everything”, but, of course, with the dreaded “I cannot say” in tail.

That’s enough of a reason to infer Chris Pratt will return as Peter Quill in GotG2, ‘cause otherwise why would Gunn bother to even talk to the actor about the part, let alone divulge everything about him? Plus, Gunn has recently confirmed, via his social media account, that the main cast would return.

A more detailed answer follows. It regards the sequel’s soundtrack, Awesome Mix Vol. 2, and the plot. Hit the jump to listen Pratt talk about it.

Lead man in tears

So, you heard the man: “I know some of the songs that are going to be on Awesome Mix Vol 2″.

As to how the story unfolds, Pratt put it like this: “[…] What I will say is that [Gunn’s] pitch and his ideas legitmately put tears in my eyes. It is so good, it’s so good”.

Moreover, “From what I understand, Marvel [heard Gunn’s pitch] and they said nothing. [It] was that perfect”.

Listen for yourself:

So, a perfect soundtrack for a movie that has to meet higher expectations than its prequel ever had to face! But GotG did raise the bar that far, and that makes it all the more compelling for GotG2 to score points with both the fans and the box office.
