UPDATE: Black Panther titular role cast Chadwick Boseman told in a latest interview that he loves Ernie Hudson as an actor and that he will be a good fit for his father King T’Chaka’s role. But he also claims that he doesn’t know anything about. Check out the video at the bottom of post.
Prince T'Challa of Wakanda, aka Black Panther, is set to arrive in theaters with his solo outing on July 18, 2018, but it won't be the first appearance of the superhero in Marvel Cinematic Universe. The third installment of the Captain America franchise will not only present to us an epic fight between Cap and Iron Man, but will also introduce the first black superhero in mainstream American comics to MCU.
We already know that Get On Up star Chadwick Boseman will play the superhero and the veteran actor Andy Serkis is playing the Black Panther nemesis Ulysses Klaue in the highly anticipated Avengers: Age of Ultron which releases this May. However, Serkis claims that it isn't still clear that he's returning in Black Panther solo.
The latest rumor suggests that there's another character from Black Panther comics that might have found a face for live-action incarnation. It's none other than the father of Chadwick Boseman's character King T'Chaka!
Ernie Hudson Up For T'Chaka Role!
According to an Instagram post of Latino-Review's El Mayimbe, the 69-year-old actor Ernie Hudson is eyed for the role of Black Panther's father. The actor is best known for his role of Winston Zeddemore in the 1983 and 1989 ventures of Ghostbusters franchise. Here's the post for you.
Will The Character Appear In Civil War?
According to the comics, King T'Chaka is an ally of Steve Rogers, so a cameo appearance of the Chieftain of Wakanda in Captain America: Civil War won't be surprising at all! The fact that his son Black Panther is appearing in the movie adds more sense to such an assumption. What do you guys think though? Do share your thoughts via comments!
