We are not sure whether they have 13 reasons why they would do so, but the Russo Brothers have added Katherine Langford to the cast roster of their upcoming blockbuster Avengers 4.
TheWrap and multiple other Hollywood trades are reporting that Langford, best recognized for her portrayal of Hannah Baker in Netflix's 13 Reasons Why, has landed a role in the upcoming outing of Earth's Mightiest Heroes. The Aussie actress has already filmed her scenes, which isn't surprising given that the Russos have completed both principal and additional photography for the movie.
There's no word on whether Langford is playing a hero or a villain, a new character or the younger/older version of a character that we've already seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It's also unclear whether she will have a substantial role in Avengers 4 or just a minor one.
After starring in the first two seasons, the 22-year-old actress is done with 13 Reasons Why. But she will return on Netflix next year with Frank Miller and Tom Wheeler's drama series Cursed. She has also starred in movies The Misguided and Love, Simon, but the fourth Avengers installment could be her biggest breakthrough.
Katherine Langford isn't the only newly-revealed cast member of Avengers 4 - the addition of another actor, who appeared in a couple of MCU installments in the past, has been disclosed too. On a recent episode of UFC Unfiltered podcast, Frank Grillo confirms that he will reprise his role of Crossbones from the Captain America movies in the May 3, 2019 release. He suggests that the character will appear in a flashback sequence. According to the 53-year-old actor:
He [Crossbones] makes an appearance in the next Avengers movie, but it's a flashback. And I'm allowed to say whatever I want because I'm never doing another Marvel movie"¦because I'm 117 years old.
