So if we didn't like some aspects of Avengers: Age of Ultron (as it is seen in here), does that mean that we didn't enjoy the movie at all? Far from us that thought - as a matter of fact, this movie was all that we expected as far as entertainment is concerned.
Sure enough, the surprise of seeing the Avengers band together for the first time wasn't there - and, frankly, it couldn't have been since, well, we're far beyond 2012. But besides that, Avengers: Age of Ultron is the perfect summer blockbuster.

Superhero action - isn't this everything we expect from a superhero movie? Age of Ultron delivered that, and quite a lot of it. Sure enough, the bar raised by the first Avengers was pretty high from the first place. But this is where this sequel shines - it delivers, presenting the characters in new situations, further explaining the consequences of the previous movies.
And this isn't all - the marketing campaign (with trailers, clips, and so on) hinted that Age of Ultron will be a lot darker, thus shifting the tone of the previous Marvel films. It wasn't so - sure, there was lots of destruction and mayhem, but each and every time the heroes did everything they needed to do in order to contain it.
From this point of view, the comparison with another studio is humongous.
The new characters
Highlight
While we know who the Avengers were, Age of Ultron did bring something new to the table - Vision is by far the most entertaining character presented and he will definitely have a word to say in the final battle with Thanos (since, well, one of the Infinity Stones is on his forehead). And the way he was introduced, the way he lifted the hammer, the way in which, well, everything, makes us even more excited.
Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch were the other two additions - with never before seen powers. As to Scarlet Witch, after Hulk's departure from the team, she is shaped out to be like the new powerhouse of the team. So, if Age of Ultron raised the bar as far as the action is concerned, you can expect to be mind-blown in the future movies.
The path is clear
The Infinity War is just beyond the horizon
The perfect summer blockbuster - this is what Age of Ultron was. Keeping in mind that it is a part of a shared universe, the movie was expected to connect to the previous films, as well as hint at all the future others. And it does so, with basically half of Phase III being set in here.
So, without nitpicking, Age of Ultron is right there with all the best Marvel films. Looking forward to see what Ant-Man will bring into the fold, for the upcoming Civil War.
