Maria Bakalova, who plays Cosmo in the third installment of the Guardians of the Galaxy film series, recently gave an interview in which she detailed her experiences since joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Bakalova was questioned about contributing motion-capture work in addition to voicing the Spacedog during an interview with Discussing Film. the interview took place. “Yes, I was in a motion capture suit. I believe that’s all I’m allowed to say about it for the time being “— I quote her. “It has been incredible. In addition to the fact that I am a fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, I am also a fan of the movement known as Dogme 95, which was founded by Lars Von Trier and Thomas Vinterberg. Indeed, they are two quite distinct things, but both hold the same level of significance for me.”
“So having the opportunity to join the family of Marvel and especially the Guardians of the Galaxy, which was my first love in the MCU, was a dream come true,” Bakalova continued. “Having the chance to play Gamora in Guardians of the Galaxy was a dream come true.” “The fans have been so friendly and kind, and it makes my heart happy to see how excited everyone is awaiting volume 3. It is something that is truly priceless and serves as a reminder of why you are actually doing the work that you are doing, which is to make other people feel something. That, in my opinion, is the most valuable present.”
Cosmo Is Marvel’s Goodest Girl
Marvel made the announcement that Bakalova would be joining the Guardians franchise as Cosmo at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. Cosmo is a Labrador that is launched into space, where she develops telepathic powers and eventually finds her way onto the space station Knowhere, where she has a cameo appearance in the first Guardians film. Bakalova will play the role of Cosmo in the Guardians franchise. In the Marvel Comics series, Cosmo was initially portrayed as a male character; however, writer and director James Gunn decided to change this for the film adaptation in order to pay tribute to Laika, the actual Soviet space dog who perished while orbiting the Earth in 1947 and was the source of inspiration for Cosmo.
The identity of Chukwudi Iwuji as the High Evolutionary, a crazed geneticist who serves as the primary antagonist in Volume 3, was also disclosed at SDCC. Iwuji has revealed some information about his persona, but the most of the specifics are being kept secret “He is quite charming despite his sociopathic and narcissistic tendencies. I couldn’t have come up with a better character to enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe with who makes better use of [a] skill set. Because he has a quality that is really Shakespearean, he has a quality that is extremely emotionally dark, and in addition to all of that, he is a lot of fun.” Rocket Raccoon’s past will be explored in Volume 3, and the events of that volume will most likely involve both Cosmo and the Evolutionary.
Gunn has indicated that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will conclude the story that he started with the first film in the series, which was released in 2014 “I just want to be honest with the story and the characters, and I want to give the audience the satisfying conclusion that they are due for the story… That makes me feel a little bit anxious, but I’ll do the best I can.” In addition to this, he said the following about the movie: “It’s big; it’s so, so big and dark, and it’s different from what people might be anticipating it to be.”
