After Suicide Squad proved that Warner Bros. shouldn't interfere in the creative process, Wonder Woman is the DCEU's next hope for setting the shared universe on the right track. And, after the release of two trailers, we can say that it looks good. Wonder Woman looks as if the studio and the director have finally managed to change the universe, without actually giving up on its more meaningful themes.
And the trailers proved this, despite early reports (which appeared right after the release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice) saying that Wonder Woman is a mess, and director Patty Jenkins and the studio didn’t know what to do to correct it.
Given the timing of the rumor, it became obvious that it wasn’t believable.
However, the rumor has now resurfaced - with a vengeance, we might say, since every website has picked it up. During the Schmoes Know Show, one of the crew mentioned that certain sources recently said that Wonder Woman is indeed a mess - despite the fact that the trailers show anything but. Even more worrying, the source who said this is the same source who announced that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was a failure. Check it out:
So, I don’t want to throw anyone under the bus. We have somebody within our community who has gotten insider information that broke my effing heart this week, because I have tremendous belief that Wonder Woman is gonna be awesome, and I heard it stinks from the same person who told me that they heard that BvS stinks…The person who I spoke to…their response was “I’m very disappointed in what I saw, and it seems like all the problems are the same problems. It’s discombobulated, it doesn’t have narrative flow. It’s just very disjointed (skip to 1:41:30 in the video below).“
Well - that doesn't sound good at all, even if it’s just a rumor that might ultimately be proven false. But if Wonder Woman fails, there will be an even bigger burden on Justice League, Zack Snyder’s third directorial attempt in the DCEU"¦
Wonder Woman will be released on the 2nd of June.
