After the release of two trailers, Wonder Woman seems to be the DCEU movie to finally bring in both the big bucks and critical praise, even though the previous movies of the shared universe have been divisive – box office hits even though they were disappointing for the majority of the fans and critics, alike. Of course, a couple of months ago, there were rumors that the movie is a mess. But Patty Jenkins, who directed the film, dismissed them immediately.
Speaking about this issue, Flick Reel is now reporting that Wonder Woman is heading into reshoots. And this wouldn't be such a big deal, especially with a big blockbuster film. Of course, this is just a rumor at this point and, as said, it isn't a reason to worry. But, given the previous DCEU movies"¦
Suicide Squad also underwent extensive reshoots, only to have it revealed afterward that the studio was indeed worried that a darker tone wouldn't appeal to all of the audiences. Later, it was also revealed that the movie had two cuts, one made by the director and one made by the same company that cut the trailers. As we saw, Suicide Squad was kind of a mess, with a plot that was riddled with holes.
We’ve also seen the rumors saying that The Batman is a mess - rumors which were retracted by the same person who started them. So should the fans be worried?
Flick Reel doesn't say whether the reshoots for Wonder Woman were planned or ordered by the studio after reviewing a first cut of the film. Given the track record of the DCEU movies, one might suspect that it’s the latter possibility.
Anyway, one thing can be said about the Warner Bros. movies: They have kick-ass trailers.
