The latest trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice offers us an exciting sequence in which Ben Affleck's Batman takes on a mob. And we've had glimpses of a number of other fight scenes that make us think that he's got the best action sequences in the movie. However, Ben, doesn't think so!
In a recent interview with Premiere France (via Comic Book), the actor referred to one of his Batman v Superman co-stars as the one who's got the finest action sequences in the movie. It's Gal Gadot, who plays Wonder Woman! Here's what Ben said:
Gal Gadot plays the character of Wonder Woman in the movie. It’s very difficult not to fall into the ridiculous. The border is extremely thin but she is really doing well. The most impressive action sequences in the film are actually hers.
Well, that seems to substantiate the comments made in a recent episode of the superhero talk show Collider Heroes. They said that Diana Prince is the "standout" in Batman v Superman and she just "steals the movie".
Lex Luthor in Batman v Superman - Kurt Cobain mixed with Larry Page!
In the interview on the French website, Ben Affleck described Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor in a sort of unconventional way. He compared the Batman v Superman lead supervillain with the legendary musician Kurt Cobain and the tech tycoon Larry Page! He said (via Comic Book):
His Lex Luthor is reminiscent of [deceased Nirvana frontman] Kurt Cobain mixed with [Google co-founder] Larry Page. It’s great! It makes me laugh and celebrates the uniqueness of our billionaires.
The 43-year-old actor also shared that he's been a fan of Alfred Pennyworth actor Jeremy Irons since his high school days. Ben stated that he shares very close and emotionally important scenes with Irons in Batman v Superman. For those scenes, he could rely on the actor "to trigger real emotions". He hardly had to act; it came naturally.
