We have already had confirmations of some big names being a part of the DC and Warner Bros 2016 venture Suicide Squad, except one vital role, perhaps, the most vital, Amanda Waller! At some point of time we heard that the most influential lady in the earth, Oprah Winfrey, is up for the role and two other strong actresses considered.
Then we heard that one of the other two ladies had taken over Oprah Winfrey in the race for the Suicide Squad boss role and is very close to signing a deal. The name of that strong actress is the twice Academy Award nominee Viola Davis. Now, finally, we have the actress herself opening her mouth on the Amanda Waller role speculation!
Viola Confirms That She Is In Talks For The Suicide Squad Role!
In a recent interview with "˜The Nerd Report', the "˜How to Get Away with Murder' actress confirmed that she is in talks with Warner Bros for the role of Amanda Waller of Suicide Squad. She also admitted that she's working out on her schedule for being a part of the DC Cinematic Universe.
When asked whether she has started reading comic for the Suicide Squad role, Viola replied in negative but added that she has read about the character and it has fascinated her. She admitted that she would love to play a strong character like Amanda Waller.
Viola Deal Not Just For Suicide Squad, But Multiple Movies!
According to The Wrap, Viola Davis deal with Warner Bros won't be limited to just the third installment of DC Cinematic Universe, rather it will ask her for a commitment to reprise her role in more than one follow-ups. Their sources claimed that it is a bit difficult on Viola's part to come up with available dates for Suicide Squad due to her commitment to the ABC series, but that the deal might see a green signal within a couple of weeks.
