Last week, during an interview with MTV, Ben Affleck and Anna Kendrick (costars in The Accountant) played a little comedic sketch. In it, Anna Kendrick wore a Robin suit, saying that she'd very much like to appear in the Ben Affleck DCEU solo movie. Of course, being a comedic sketch, who would believe that there is any truth to it?
Nonetheless, it seems that there are quite a few fans out there who believe that Kendrick would make a great Robin (or even Batgirl, for that matter). Even though the actress previously said that she'd be interested in portraying Squirrel Girl in the MCU, the fact that she changed her tune doesn't mean anything - she'd hardly be the only one to have switched shared universes.
Talking about the fans of Batman who want to see Kendrick as Robin, Joe Manganiello says he’s one of them. Set to portray Deathstroke in The Batman (and, most likely, cameo in Justice League), the actor posted a pic on Instagram of himself in the company of the actress.
Nothing special - however, the caption says it all:
The two actors have previously appeared in the comedy What to Expect when You're Expecting, back in 2012. Aside from the fact that this is just a movie title, what can we, the fans, expect? Does this mean that Anna Kendrick has actually landed a role in The Batman?
It may be so. Joining Ben Affleck is also J. K. Simmons, as Commissioner Gordon. Simmons also appeared in The Accountant with Affleck and Kendrick. So"¦
The fans are split when it comes to these teases. Some say that maybe Batman should be alone in his first solo flick, while others are actually looking forward to seeing the actress join the DCEU. What do you think?
