Suicide Squad - Weird UEFA 2016 Promo

Suicide Squad

According to the latest reports from Twitter, the most talked about movie of the summer is none other than Suicide Squad. And this might come as a surprise for many, given the poor reviews Batman v Superman had and the rumors surrounding Suicide Squad itself. Thus, even if the reshoots were made in order to inject more comedy into the movie, the fans can hardly wait for the movie to arrive.

On the other hand, it is quite understandable that Suicide Squad is the most talked about movie of the summer. After all, when compared to the other releases from June through August, it has had the longest and most complex marketing campaign, with several trailers already released, tons of interviews and pics from the set, and so on.

So having Suicide Squad as the most awaited when compared to the likes of Independence Day: Resurgence, TMNT: Out of the Shadows, or even the latest Bourne movie, is no surprise at all.

Speaking of the marketing campaign, it has now turned out to be weirder than anyone would have believed. And we are not sure that it is a good kind of weird. In a 150 second long clip posted on Twitter, an announcement is made - that England has presented its team for Euro 2016. What does that have to do with the Suicide Squad?

Well, the pretty annoying announcer then proceeds with presenting the Suicide Squad - so there is no obvious connection. Nonetheless, it does feature something new about the squad members, including their reputation - and it can be quite revealing (Enchantress, for example, is the secret weapon).

So check it out below, if you want. But don't expect anything new about the Joker. We guess it was clear from the start that he is the wild card.

So yes - even though it’s a weird way of promoting the movie, the marketing campaign once again reminds everybody that the Suicide Squad is coming.
