Suicide Squad – New Character Vignettes and a Scene Description!

New character vignettes for Suicide Squad and the description of a scene released!

Advance tickets for Suicide Squad are now on sale, and to remind us of that, Warner Bros has launched a bunch of vignettes featuring the Task Force X members. While we've seen most of the footage in these promo clips, and we are acquainted with most of the information they provide, the wacky way they are presented makes them feel fresh and energizing.

And there's some new footage too, especially in the vignette on Cara Delevingne's Enchantress. It offers us a completely new look at the ancient sorceress. Her headgear seems more ancient in the clip, and it seems like she's in the middle of some kind of massive spell or summoning.

We have two clips for you, both featuring a combination of the different Suicide Squad characters' profiles.

The first one features character vignettes of Will Smith's Deadshot, Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn, Joel Kinnaman's Rick Flagg, Viola Davis' Amanda Waller, Jai Courtney's Boomerang, Jay Hernandez's El Diablo, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje's Killer Croc and Cara's Enchantress.

The second one features Adam Beach as Slipknot and Karen Fukuhara as Katana.

The studio hasn't released a character vignette for The Joker (Jared Leto). But this makes sense, because he isn't a member of the Suicide Squad.

UPDATE: Jared Leto has shared the promo clip for his character, The Joker! Check it out below!

During a visit to the David Ayer flick's Toronto set last summer, some journalists were allowed to witness the filming of a particular scene.

Thanks to Comic Book, we now have a detailed description of the scene that takes place toward the end of Suicide Squad's first act. Do I need to say this? SPOILERS AHEAD!

In the scene, Task Force X has already been assembled and they've been sent out on their mission. However, they don't know yet exactly what they’re up against. It's raining, and they’re standing outside, when Will Smith's character stops Kinnaman's character to have a conversation with him. Here's the exchange between the two!

Deadshot: You know exactly what we’re walking into, don’t you?

Rick Flag: I tell you what you need to know. That’s how things work. You know I own a Ford pickup truck with a blown engine? Not everything is relevant.

Margot Robbie's character brings a moment of levity to the scene when she walks up to the two before peeking between them. With a smile, Harley says, "Hi, guys. Lover's spat?"

Dismissing her, Deadshot turns back to Rick Flag and says, "Tell everybody everything. They need to know." It seems that Smith's character must have found a dossier in the crash that helped him learn about who they’ll be dealing with. Kinnaman's character explains:

Three days ago, a non-human entity appeared in a subway station. First, they sent the cops. It killed them. Then they sent the Army. It killed them, too. Then they sent me and a woman with…incredible abilities. A witch – as in brooms and black cats. Nobody could get near this thing, but the witch could, so the plan was to hand her an anti-demolition charge; she drops it at his feet, and we fly economy back to DC. Needless to say, the whole thing was a bad idea. Now you know.

That is when Boomerang confirms that they are going after Enchantress and the mysterious supervillain they call the Adversary:

There’s no one the smallest bit concerned about going to war with a witch and a giant magic monster, all ’cause some old duck is dead?

Finally, the Suicide Squad members head out of the rain and into a bar where they can grab a drink and plan their next move. The scene seems to be an interesting one, doesn't it?
