As soon as Suicide Squad started its reshoots, a rumor popped up suggesting that its intention is to add more humor to the mix. After Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice getting slammed by the critics and witnessing significant drop at the box office, Warner Bros are concerned about the upcoming August 5 release. They don't want Suicide Squad to be received in a similar fashion as the Zack Snyder flick and that's why they have requested to boost up the movie's fun element.
And after staying quite for more than a week, David Ayer has finally addressed the rumor using his official Twitter account!
Don't believe everything you hear, son!
Ayer might not have used this Bruce Wayne quote in his response but that's actually what he meant! The director has termed the rumor as "silly"! And he suggests that Suicide Squad is undergoing reshoots to add more action. Check out his tweet below!
#SuicideSquad "reshoots for humor" is silly. When a studio loves your movie and asks what else you want, go for it! #ThanksWB #moreaction

Even though this is the first time Ayer has addressed the rumor, he isn't the first one related to the movie to shed some light on it. Few days back, Boomerang cast Jai Courtney also denied any truth behind the rumor and he, too, claimed that they were doing reshoots for adding some more action stuff.
Well, after the release of new Suicide Squad trailer yesterday, it seems like David Ayer and Jai Courtney are telling the truth. This is because that particular rumor suggested that "every joke in the movie" is in the trailer released back in January, 2016. But the new trailer, which is loaded with new footage, has even more amount of humor than the last one! So, the rumor doesn't make sense any more.
However, that doesn't mean rumors don't come true. We recently heard one about this new Suicide Squad trailer being cut to The Ballroom Blitz. That's turned true!
