Suicide Squad – More Than an Action Movie

Suicide Squad

While the Suicide Squad trailers focused on the action and the comedy of the movie, it is much more than that. According to the most recent reports, this will also be a family movie and a love story.

In the most recent Entertainment Weekly issue, it is revealed that Deadshot will also appear in some Suicide Squad flashbacks. According to the source, Floyd Lawton is described as being conflicted and as trying to do right by his daughter. The flashbacks will feature Zoe Lawton, the daughter he didn’t know he had until after her toddlerhood.

Apparently, Suicide Squad will take many cues from Assault on Arkham.

More importantly, EW also describes the entire flick as a twisted love-story. Why twisted? Because it is between the Joker and Harley Quinn. Thus, Joker won't appear just in the Suicide Squad flashbacks, as it was rumored until now. Instead, he will try to free Harley and bring her to his side throughout the entire movie.

Which is very interesting, since it means that the Suicide Squad will also have to go up against the Clown Prince of Crime. Furthermore, it will be even more exciting when the Joker finally meets Deadshot. As photos from the set have hinted, there seems to be a connection between the assassin and Joker's squeeze.

Will he succeed in freeing her? It’s hard to say, especially since Warner Bros. intends to do a flick featuring Harley and other supervillainesses. And if this is to happen, we aren't so certain about the outcome of Joker's quest.

But hey! Maybe he isn't trying to just rescue her. Maybe, as in Assault on Arkham, he is trying to get something that she has. What do you think?

Suicide Squad arrives on the 5th of August.

To be added - no, we don't believe that David Ayer is copying Deadpool's marketing campaign, with the whole this is a love story and not a superhero flick thing.
