At first, it looked as though Shazam! might be the DC movie no one really wanted to see. But even as he prepared to shoot the film, director David F. Sandberg had already begun to promote it by posting a number of pics via social media!
As time passed, we saw Zachary Levi on a banner that was unveiled at the Las Vegas Licensing Expo and in some on-set photos, but by the time filming officially wrapped in May, we still hadn’t seen an official image of the Shazam! star in costume. And many fans were less than impressed when they saw the Shazam! suit in the shots from the set left a lot to be desired.
Levi responded to the criticism during a Q&A session on Instagram:
I think my suit is fucking bomb, to be perfectly honest, and I know there hasn't been an officially released photo yet, but there have been incredibly high-quality photos that have been released. And I think any of you people out there who are still hung up on what the suit looks like are just wanting to be angry for angry's sake.
Zac just killed the ones who keep trashing the Shazam! suit. "I think my suit is fucking bomb" I FUCKING ADORE HIM!!!!! pic.twitter.com/wv0UHxcl7O

But we may have the opportunity to catch a glimpse of Shazam! in action a bit sooner than the movie’s April 5, 2019 release date. Kellvin Chavez of Splash Report recently reported that David F. Sandberg isn’t going to show up at San Diego Comic Con 2018 empty-handed. No, he's bringing along the first teaser/trailer for Shazam!
Just got word that the #Shazam trailer will make its debut at this year’s #SDCC pic.twitter.com/SEieh2zs66

If Chavez’s story is accurate, Warner Bros. intends to present first clips for both Shazam! and Aquaman. This will be an excellent chance for them to demonstrate that they’ve found a new and better way to present the DCEU.
The first Aquaman trailer is long overdue, and the teaser/trailer for Shazam! will be the proverbial cherry on top!
