A few days ago, it was revealed that Watchmen star Patrick Wilson would be playing Orm Marius, aka Ocean Master, in James Wan's Aquaman. Soon after the report surfaced on the web, the director confirmed the casting via his official social media account. But we didn't get any comment from the actor.
However, Wilson has finally spoken about landing the role of Ocean Master in the October 5, 2018 release. The actor – who has already worked with James Wan in the first two installments of both Insidious and The Conjuring - told WBT:
What’s gonna be interesting is there hasn’t been the technology to back up the storytelling, I guess, for Aquaman, until now. And for me, of course, I’m completely biased with James Wan, who I’ve done four films with – knowing that he’s at the helm and knowing what he…can do and what he will do, I’ll do anything with him.
Patrick Wilson is not only excited about working with the director for the fifth time, but also about getting to meet Jason Momoa and play his half-brother in the DC Extended Universe installment. He apparently liked Momoa's performance as Khal Drogo in HBO's Game of Thrones:
I think the lure of Aquaman [is] because he hasn’t been overexposed on screen. And I don’t know Jason – I can’t wait to meet him. I was a huge fan even from the first episode of Game of Thrones, so I’m in – I’m in with him, and he’s gonna be fantastic.
During the interview, Wilson spilled the beans about his costume fitting, which will take place next week. While we will likely have to wait a while to get our first look at the actor in his Ocean Master costume, we can imagine what he could look like with the help of Boss Logic's brilliant artwork.
