Joker - The Beautiful Disaster

The Joker

It sounds pretty cool, right?, calling the Joker a beautiful disaster"¦ Well, we didn't come up with this flattering metaphor for the Clown Prince of Crime, but Jared Leto (who, as it appears, heard it from somewhere else), who is set to take on this role next year, in Suicide Squad. But then again we knew already that the Oscar winning actor is like a complete artist, like a James Franco who actually knew what he was doing.

Until now, the actor has been quite quiet about his role as the Joker - but no more, it appears, since he has revealed that he is trying to put on some weight (and he isn't too good at eating, as he says) for the role.

Does this mean we'll have a buff Joker?

Jared Leto

Not at all - it actually means that Jared Leto has a pretty good idea as to how Joker should be portrayed on the big screen. Sure thing, the Ace of Knaves isn't as buff as his archenemy Batman, but it isn't scrawny either.

Joker is lean, but not buff. He has the posture and the physique needed for a fistfight, but he doesn't necessarily want to get this up and personal in such a way. In a way, the Joker is intimidating with his physique, but not too much"¦

The Beautiful Disaster

Why so serious?

Why so serious?

Jared Leto is the kind of person that, just like Heath Ledger before him, becomes immersed completely in his role. So hearing him talking about Joker as a beautiful disaster or hearing from him that the character is nearly a perfect Shakespearean character sure gets our hopes high.

Of course, we know from the start that the role of the Joker will be just a secondary one next year, in the Suicide Squad. However, even if so, we can hardly wait to hear him laughing!
