In Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Comedian in Watchmen and Negan in The Walking Dead) portrayed Thomas Wayne in a flashback. Obviously, it was the obligatory flashback, featuring Bruce Wayne's parents being killed.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice also featured another controversial scene, in which The Flash appears from the future, having traveled through time to warn Batman about the coming of an imminent threat. And this led many to suspect that, sometime in the near future, the DCEU will head into a Flashpoint adaptation.
Talking about this, Jeffrey Dean Morgan has said in the past that he'd like to portray the Flashpoint version of the Batman. In the comics, it was Bruce Wayne who was killed as a child, and his father took on the mantle of the Caped Crusader. As Batman, Thomas Wayne was unforgiving, in the end delivering the finishing blow and helping to bring the Flashpoint to an end.
Most recently, during an interview with Cinema Blend, the actor said once again that he hopes this was the plan all along: to have him portray the Thomas Wayne version of the Batman. The actor said:
Maybe when he (Zack Snyder) cast me that was kind of the goal. Hopefully DC can figure this all out, and in a few years I can come back and do a Flashpoint Batman! I would love it. That would be great.
And then the actor said that a discussion about this version of the Dark Knight also happened during the promotion of Watchmen:
I have not had any big discussions with him about [Flashpoint], but I remember when we were in Australia doing Watchmen press, and I was having dinner with Zack or whatever. And he was like, “My dream is to do the Frank Miller Batman.” And he goes, “You would be an awesome Batman.” The darker version.
Of course, since the DCEU has just started, Jeffrey Dean Morgan may have to wait quite a while for the Flashpoint to happen. Maybe when he's in his 60's"¦
