San Diego Comic Con International 2017 brought quite a few official announcements, along with some rumors. Announcements included release dates, casting information, and plot details for upcoming Marvel and DC Comics movies. In addition to the trailers, which stole the show, the Flashpoint announcement was most definitely the most exciting of them all.
The announcement confirmed that The Flash movie is moving forward, although it still lacks a release date and a director. But what really made it exciting was that the movie could become a soft-reboot of the DC Extended Universe.
In Flashpoint, the Flash unknowingly changed the timeline when he traveled back in time and saved his mother. We already witnessed his ability to travel through time in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, so we saw this coming, although maybe not this soon.
Flash created a world ravaged by a war between Aquaman and Wonder Woman, in which there was no Justice League and the nearly all of the heroes were altered. Batman evidenced the most major change. He was actually Thomas Wayne, who became a ruthless Batman after Bruce Wayne was killed in the alley. And…Martha became the Joker.
We saw them in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The Walking Dead's Jeffrey Dean Morgan played Thomas Wayne and Lauren Cohan played Martha Wayne.
So, apparently, Batman v Superman was even bigger than we suspected.
In response to the Flashpoint announcement, Morgan (The Comedian in Zack Snyder's Watchmen) posted the following:

In Flashpoint, Morgan would be a central character, so we certain that this news brought a smile to his face. He also posted a piece of fan art (from Boss Logic) that depicted him as Batman and Cohan as The Joker:
What can we say? Whenever they release Flashpoint, it’s going to be epic!
