Wonder Woman’s costume

Granted, the shield and the sword look amazing, but what puzzles me is that pair of wedge heel boots. Is Snyder trying to squeeze in fashion trends now?

Not that stilettos would have done justice to Wonder Woman’s costume, but why didn’t they go for the good old fashioned block heel combat boots?
