It has already been confirmed that the events of the upcoming Wonder Woman movie take place in the World War I era, but there have been rumors that some parts of it may take place in the present day or even another time period. And we've also heard about Chris Pine playing multiple roles in the movie"¦like Steve Trevor and his grandson Steve Trevor, Jr.!
But the 36-year-old actor shot down that rumor in a recent interview with The Huffington Post! When the interviewer asked about playing multiple roles in Wonder Woman, he didn’t hesitate to dismiss the query with a simple "No"!
Pine is, of course, a prominent face in Hollywood today, and many thought Warner Bros. wouldn't want to hire him to play a character whose chances of returning in the DC Extended Universe are slim. Don't forget that he was a fan-favorite choice for Hal Jordan, aka Green Lantern.
And in The New 52, Steve Trevor has had significant connections to the Justice League, so it isn't that weird to assume that the actor could be introduced as a modern-day descendant of the character and will keep coming back in future DCEU installments. But that is no longer possible after hearing such a straightforward response from him.
During the interview, Pine also answered questions about his experience in Wonder Woman:
It was fun to fall in love with Gal Gadot. It was fun to do some comedy. It was fun to do some action. The part kind of asked for a little bit of all of it, so it was a good time. I think what's really fun and exciting about it…different about it, actually, is that there's a nice love story at the center of an action film, and I don't think you see that often in these kinds of films.
Pine and Gal Gadot's chemistry seems quite impressive in the trailer, and we do hope that we’ll be feeling that good about it when the movie rolls into theaters on June 2, 2017.
