While everybody knows that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will be released with a PG-13 rating, the fans of DC comics will be able to make the most of the epic brawl between the two main protagonists when the Blu-ray arrives. And that is because, according to some scoops from Stitch Kingdom, the ultimate edition of the Blu-ray will be rated R for scenes of extreme violence.
And this is what we hoped in the first place: for the action sequences to not be dumbed down for the sake of a larger audience. And, after seeing the last trailer of Batman v Superman, and how brutal Batman is, we were wondering if Zack Snyder might have something in store for us.
Of course, this has led many to speculate that Batman v Superman is riding on the success of Deadpool, the R-rated comic book movie that has obliterated all records. But this isn't really so, since Zack Snyder previously directed Watchmen, whose Ultimate Edition has earned also a hard R-rating, due to the extreme violence (some gang member having taken so many punches to the face that he spilled all of his broken teeth out, for example) and scenes of sexual nature.
In other news, it was officially announced when the fans will be able to purchase their advance tickets. According to the Batman v Superman Twitter account, the sale will begin on the 29th of February, almost a month before the movie releases.
While Warner Bros has confirmed this date, it isn't known what time ticket sales will begin.
At this point, while Batman v Superman is one of the most anticipated movies of all time, it has managed to divide the audiences already (since, well, some are still questioning whether Zack Snyder is the right director or not). It will be interesting to see how much this will affect the pre-order sales.
