As far as the DCEU is concerned, everybody seems to be talking about Ben Affleck and The Batman, as if there aren't two other movies in the same shared universe scheduled for release this year. Even more, people forget that The Batman (which is supposed to be released in 2018, but which will most likely miss that deadline) won’t be the only DCEU flick released next year.
We already saw Aquaman in a cameo in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Next up, Jason Momoa will appear in an extended role in Justice League, due out this November. However, his solo movie won't be released until the fall of 2018.
And the actor is stoked about it, as he said during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. He went on to say that it was fun on the set of Justice League, where he was the one actor who did the most dangerous stunts. However, he implied that it will be even better when Aquaman begins shooting in four or five months.
Sure, he didn't say exactly when it will happen. But it makes sense for the shooting to begin in late spring or early summer of this year. In this way, by the time 2018 arrives, we'll have had plenty of time to see set pics and even clips (after all, Zack Snyder did present Justice League footage at last year's Comic Con, despite having just begun shooting).
In regard to the Justice League director, Jason Momoa didn’t hesitate to say that he’s a genius. Sure, some of the DC Comics' fans wouldn't use the word “genius” to describe Zack Snyder. But this means that the atmosphere on the set was great.
