Aquaman Events to Follow Justice League

Filming for Aquaman officially began in early May. Pre-production went as smoothly as possible, and both director James Wan and star Jason Momoa teased that it would be a movie like no other. So, despite the December 2018 release date, the buzz has already begun over Arthur Curry’s first solo adventure.

All we know about the plot is what the brief unofficial synopsis revealed: Arthur Curry learns that he is the heir to Atlantis' throne, and he must step up to lead his people. Besides that, we know that several villainous characters will appear, including Orm (teased by Jason Momoa as the King of Atlantis), Ocean Master, and King Nereus. James Wan also teased the Trench, so Curry will have to overcome numerous obstacles in his path to the throne.

During an interview with Cinema Blend, executive producer Charles Roven revealed that there will be some references to previous DC Extended Universe events. While we first thought of events that took place in Man of Steel, specifically when the World Engine was destroyed in the Indian Ocean, Roven said that Aquaman will also reference Justice League.

James [Wan] definitely knows where he's going with [Aquaman], and that movie takes place in a world where Justice League happened, and Man of Steel happened, and Wonder Woman obviously takes place before Man of Steel "” except for the bookends we have. So that's where we have the most ability to freeform. We could do a movie that takes place after Justice League, we can do a movie that takes place after Batman v Superman"¦well, not really. You can't do a movie in between Batman v Superman and Justice League, but we can do movies that take place after Justice League and we can do movies that precede Justice League.

That’s a Mother Box. (Tumblr)

We already know from the Justice League trailer that the Parademons and Aquaman will engage in some underwater fighting and Steppenwolf will try to obtain the Mother Box that was entrusted to Atlantis. But we wonder what repercussions this will have, especially if Orm is indeed the King.
