Aquaman: Did Yahya Abdul-Mateen II Drop a Huge Spoiler?

At first, Aquaman appeared to be quite overcrowded, with no less than three major villains. But now it’s looking more and more like another DC Extended Universe success story. James Wan is apparently committed to making a great film, the actors are having loads of fun on the set, and there’s been no word of any delays. We think this is an excellent formula for a great superhero flick!

The movie’s villains are Ocean Master (Patrick Wilson), Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II), and King Nereus (Dolph Lundgren), who may or may not be a true villain.

One of the actors might have revealed a big Aquaman spoiler!

Black Manta (DC Comics)

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II wished his Twitter followers a Happy Thursday, which seemed normal enough. But he accompanied it with the cover art from Brightest Day #20, in which Black Manta stands triumphant and Aquaman screams in pain because his hand’s been chopped off!

Sure, that happened in the comics, but will it happen in the film, as well? Patrick Wilson replied to Yahya Abdul-Mateen II's tweet:

Director James Wan is part of this, as well:

Again, when the cast is having fun making the movie, it’s all just part of the recipe for an enjoyable superhero flick! It remains to be seen whether this exchange was just that (fun) or an actual spoiler.

Aquaman will be released on December 21, 2018.
