We've seen Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson, aka Falcon, in three Marvel Cinematic Universe installments to date - Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Ant-Man. He's set to reprise the role in the upcoming Captain America: Civil War.
Well, we don't need to ask him, "Whose are you on?" This is because we already know that he's a Team Cap member in the movie. But what about the question: "Who will win?" That question refers to the other big clash in the superhero movie genre this year - Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. So, who would Anthony Mackie want to win in what Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor considers "the greatest gladiator match in the history of the world"?
Recently, Flickering Myth asked that of the actor, and he has responded! Here's what he said:
If I had to pick, I'd pick Batman"¦
So, Batman's got Falcon's back this March 25! Anthony Mackie went on to share his favorite version of the Caped Crusader:
Michael Keaton is my favorite Batman, though if I got to hang out with Morgan Freeman for the rest of my life, I'd be happy!
Well, that's not surprising, because most people would either agree with that or refer to Christian Bale's incarnation as their favorite.
Anthony Mackie finds DC and Marvel rivalry strange!
In the interview, Anthony Mackie was asked about the rivalry between Marvel and DC. And here's how he responded:
It's still strange to me that people think DC and Marvel are rivals, thinking we sit on the Marvel sets talking (trash) about DC.
Something has definitely changed! We didn't see him being that discreet back during a Winter Soldier press junket. Check it out below!
Captain America: Civil War is the best Marvel movie!
In another recent interview with IGN, Anthony Mackie commented that the second installment of the Captain America series and the first installment of the Iron Man series are the best Marvel movies to date. But he thinks the very next one – Captain America: Civil War – is better than both of those:
And I think this movie far surpasses those two movies. I think the Russo brothers and Marvel have done a very good job with upping the ante every movie. And this one definitely does not fail to live up to that.
Either he hasn't watched Deadpool yet, or he's just referring to the MCU movies alone!
