So everybody must have seen or heard until now that Quicksilver is a goner and that his stint in the Marvel movies is now over - but was it supposed to be that way?
Sure enough, after seeing what Bryan Singer did with his version of the speedster, we expected for Joss Whedon to replicate or even surpass this achievement. However, there were way too many important characters in Age of Ultron for that to be achieved. But still, did they have to kill this one fabulous character? Did Marvel have to kill Quicksilver as soon as he was introduced?

According to the actor, the studio intended to have him killed in the heroic way he met his doom - a pun, a heartfelt moment, and a legacy (as in Hawkeye naming his kid after him): "It's [the] Marvel universe. It was very much our intention to kind of go the way we did. There was a costume designed for whether"¦ if I didn't [die]. Which was fucking really cool. I was like, "˜Oh my God.'
I'm not sure if I really can really go down that realm, but you know, yeah, it was definitely an alternative, that I think they had to play with. But, it was very much set from the very beginning, and Joss had in mind to tell the story that he told"¦ and I was very game for that, as well, because I think it really gives [the movie] sort of an emotional twist to it. Or is it so? In Age of Ultron, the character gets shot in the arm - and we don't believe that this was just a funny moment, but a way in which his regenerative powers were teased. Furthermore, the introduction of Helen Cho's apparatus to repair Hawkeye could also be a hint that Quicksilver will appear in other Marvel films.
Of course, at the moment everybody says differently. His death in Age of Ultron was a really well-done moment. However, we all know that nobody important has died until now in these movies. So why should Quicksilver be the first?
Fans' reaction brought Coulson back to life, in the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. We can bet that Marvel will change its mind for Quicksilver too.
