There are a host of Marvel heroes, one more interesting than the other. But their bringing on the big screens is a bit problematic, because of their own superpowers - is there a point to see a movie where the suspense lacks because the hero is too powerful?
While there is indeed a point, we can ask ourselves which are the most powerful Marvel characters that we saw until now or that could end up on the big screens. Well, here are 5 of them.
Marvel's Hulk
Obviously, this is a no brainer, because Hulk's strength is actually limitless. The angrier he gets, the stronger he becomes - how was that translated on the big screens until now?
While we did enjoy Mark Ruffalo's portrayal of the Hulk, we do believe that it could have been a lot better. Especially after the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron. During the first installment of the series, the mindless beast was able to stop a Chitauri Leviathan with a single punch - he is that strong. However, in this year's Marvel hit, the Hulk was knocked up with a single blow by Iron Man in a Hulkbuster Suit.
Sucker punched? Really.
Problematic? It certainly is, because his powers are depicted in a most inconsistent way.
One more thing - what does World Breaker mean? We thought so"¦
Black Bolt
Sure enough, we will see Black Bolt on the big screens, when Inhumans arrives in 2019. But this character is even more problematic than Hulk and Marvel better get him right - after all, he is the ruler of the Inhumans.
Why would it be difficult for him to be brought on the silver screens? He isn't vastly strong, he cannot regenerate immediately, he cannot leap into space and back on Earth again - so what is his power? In the Marvel comics, Black Bolt can obliterate entire cities with just a whisper.
So we believe that a superhero that needs just a quarter of a sigh to defeat his enemies is actually too much for the big screens. It is up to the studio to convince us that Black Bolt is a viable comic book movie character.
Galactus
This character eats planets. Is it enough to say about Galactus to convince you that his portrayal in a comic book movie is at least problematic? Fox didn't solve this issue, because they actually showed him in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer as a giant cosmic cloud. But we all know that he wasn't it.
Sure, he is described as a living force of nature - but still, a cloud?!?
He has so numerous abilities that it is futile to name them - by far, the most interesting one seems to be the fact that he can instill portions of his own powers in his heralds, Silver Surfer being one.
We are still waiting to see him, properly depicted, in a comic book movie.
The Phoenix Force
This is yet another Marvel character which was depicted in a comic book movie - X-Men: Last Stand, which is also considered the worst X-Men movie to date.
It can be considered one of the most ridiculously overpowered beings in the Marvel universe, simply because the Phoenix Force was able to defeat even Galactus - and that alone says something about this entity.
Best known for taking over Jean Grey, it was depicted in the Last Stand as, well, a powerful telepath able to destroy Professor X and a being which can manipulate matter to an atomic level - at least that is what we thought we saw. But was that enough for the avid comic book reader? No, not at all. It wasn't even enough for an average moviegoer, since the powers depicted in the film were rather commonplace.
After all, the Phoenix Force is said to be manifestation of the universal life and passion. Can you even comprehend that?
Lastly, Deadpool
Common, this is not a joke - Deadpool is the Marvel character which literally cannot be killed, no matter how hard one tried (even Fox tried this by sewing his mouth and making him unrecognizable in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, if you know what we mean).
The guy grew his head back when it was pulverized by the Hulk! How ridiculous can that be?!?
By far the underdog of this list, Deadpool was cursed by Thanos to never die - and he does exactly that. Is he super-powerful? No. Is he super-agile? No. Does he have a super-genius intellect? No. Can he manipulate matter, energies, and such? No. Dude cannot even fly! His main ability is his regenerative power - and not even that is efficient each and every time.
Well, he does have another superpower, as Domino said: He’ll talk nonsense until you surrender or commit suicide.
Oh, and there is one more thing: he is actually aware that he is a comic book character. Marvel, you have done it! Fox, you'd better get him right this time!
Special mention
This guy is supposed to be one of the strongest Gods. So what did Marvel decide to do with him?
Turn him into a joke, with his mighty Mjolnir bouncing off of third-tier villains such as Kurse (yeah, we know that in the comics Kurse is… we’re talking movies now). Hopefully, Ragnarok will be his moment in the spotlight.
