Marvel Studios recently announced the official cast roster for Thor: Ragnarok, and it features the name of Mark Ruffalo! Actually, we got the confirmation about the appearance of Bruce Banner, aka Hulk, from the actor himself several months ago.
During the Now You See Me 2 junket, ET Online caught up with Ruffalo and asked him to talk about the upcoming flick. While he didn't give away much, he did make a few promises about the Thor: Ragnarok.
According to Mark Ruffalo, the movie is "an intergalactic buddy road movie", with his and Chris Hemsworth's characters as the “buddies”. He promises that it will be "smashing", and we'll get to see "a lot more Hulk" in it.
When his Now You Can See Me 2 co-star Woody Harrelson asked if Hulk will be even "Hulk-ier" in the November 3, 2017 release, Ruffalo responds:
The Hulk gets Hulk-ier. The Hulk Hulks out. Hulk-ier and bigger.
The official cast roster of Thor: Ragnarok also features Cate Blanchett. The actress will play Hela, who will be the first lead female supervillain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Mark Ruffalo is excited about her inclusion, saying, “She plays the worst of the worst. So evil. She is going to kill us. It’s such a great part she gets to play.”
We were surprised to see Karl Urban on the official cast roster. The Dredd and Star Trek star will portray Skurge The Executioner in Thor: Ragnarok. While speaking to IGN, the actor claims that the movie's script is "fantastic", "action-packed", and "full of great characters".
Here's what he has to say about his character:
And the character is fantastic. He’s got a great arc to him. Obviously I can’t say too much about it, but I’m really thrilled to be a part of the Marvel universe and to be working on Thor: Ragnarok.
Urban also praises Taika Waititi who he thinks is "one of the most brilliant directors coming through".
Karl Urban reveals that he's reading the Norse God of Thunder's comics to prepare himself for the role. He also confirms that he would shave his head to play Skurge!
