While we don't know when Batman: The Killing Joke will be released, we can certainly say that it is one of the most anticipated DC movies of the year (right on par with Suicide Squad, even if one of them is a live action movie). One of the best Batman storylines ever is being adapted - how can we not be excited?
With Mark Hamill as the Joker and Kevin Conroy as Batman, The Killing Joke will blow us away - you don't believe us? Well, for starters and besides the voice talents, the studio has dropped the style it has adopted ever since the New 52 reboot - The Killing Joke looks and feels like those old Batman animated movies for which DC is best known and loved.
Then we know for certain that the animation will pull no punches and will (most likely) faithfully adapt the original storyline. How do we know that? Batman: The Killing Joke will be rated R.
Lastly, after the huge disappointment we had with Justice League vs. Teen Titans and after having Damian Wayne shoved into our faces in every Batman animated flick, this is the change of pace we have been waiting for. Maybe, from now on, DC and Warner Bros should stick with adapting the comic book stories we love.

Other than this, a featurette for the film has also been released, containing new bits of footage - check it out below. This movie will deserve its R rating!

Yes, they do talk about PG-13. But we all know better…
For the moment, we don't know when this will be released. The rumor is that we will get to see it in July - however, no official statement has been released. In any way, if Hamill and Conroy aren't going to return to the DC animated universe, this is the best way for them to say their farewell!
