This isn't the first time Beta Ray Bill has been discussed in connection with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. When we were introduced to the adult Star-Lord in the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie, we saw what appeared to be a Korbinite skeleton on the planet Morag, the Orb’s original location.
With the release of Thor: Ragnarok, those conversations are taking place again. Even in the trailers, we spied an apparent Korbinite (Beta Ray Bill's species), although it turned out to be a sculpture on Grandmaster's totem pole of champions. But was it actually Beta Ray Bill? Or was it just an unidentified member of the species?
Kevin Feige revealed during an interview with Crave Online that it was Beta Ray Bill! And that’s not all! The hero was supposed to cameo in the movie! However, the Marvel boss added that the cameo was removed because it didn’t do the character justice. Feige did drop a hint that Beta Ray Bill's time would come:
There was a Beta Ray Bill, but it was so quick that you would have the same complaints that you have now. He was in it a little bit more, and it just didn't do it justice. And the feeling is, if you can't do it justice, do it later.
And maybe it was for the better that he was left out. After all, Ragnarok had to bring in a number of new characters, in addition to doing justice those already introduced to the shared universe.
So there you have it! Although we haven't seen him in any of the Marvel flicks released thus far, a future movie will give us Beta Ray Bill. And this could happen fairly soon, since the studio has promised that the MCU will turn its attention to cosmic adventures.
