Joker Scenes Were Cut From SUICIDE SQUAD, Says Jared Leto

Jared Leto Joker

Early reviews for David Ayer’s “Suicide Squad” have been mixed at best, and apparently the film contains a lot less of Jared Leto’s Joker than fans would have liked. While promoting the film in the UK, Leto said of his role in the movie, “There are a lot of scenes that didn’t make it to the final film. Hopefully they will see the light of day. Who knows.”

This has been backed up by multiple early reviews of the film, which point out that though the trailers for “Suicide Squad” indicate pretty evenly shared screen time among the cast, The Joker does not appear as much as the movie’s other villains.

This surely comes as a disappointment to many fans who were hoping from a performance from Leto to rival Heath Ledger’s famous take on The Joker in “The Dark Knight.”

The negative take from critics, the lack of Leto on screen, and the rumors of disagreement between Ayer and the studio regarding the film’s dark tone are combining to create a lot of drama, and the movie won’t even hit theatres until tomorrow.

Perhaps we’ll get to see more of Leto’s performance as The Joker in a DVD cut of the film, or a standalone movie featuring the Clown Prince of Crime.

Will you still be buying a ticket to “Suicide Squad” despite the early reviews and the limited Leto footage? Let us know in the comments!
