A new video recorded from the New York City set of Todd Phillips' Joker has arrived, showing off Joaquin Phoenix in full costume as he brings chaos to a subway station.
Phillips recently shared a camera test that featured Phoenix in full clown makeup. But many were doubtful whether that was the final look of the newest version of Joker. However, a new set video has made its way online, pretty much confirming that the makeup from the camera test is indeed the ultimate one.
In the set video, we see a bunch of people donning clown masks get out of a train and start attacking civilians at a subway station. But there's one guy in a similar mask that doesn't get involved in the roughhouse. Instead, he exits the train, takes off his mask, and walks away grinning before his expression witnesses a sudden fall.
And this particular fellow is none other than our new Clown Prince of Crime. Phoenix's makeup here is the same as the one in the camera test. But unlike that video shared by Phillips, the new set video doesn't shy away from unveiling the full costume, which includes a classic purple suit. It surely seems like Todd Phillips is trying to stay one step ahead of the paparazzi. As his upcoming DC Films venture has been shooting outdoors, the director knows he can't prevent the leak of set photos and videos. So, before anyone could spoil the first look at Joaquin Phoenix as the yet-to-be-transformed-into-Joker Arthur Fleck, he himself shared it on Instagram.
Again, before filming the subway station scene with his leading man in full clown makeup, Phillips dropped the camera test. More recently, the director has shared the first look at Zazie Beetz' Sophie Dumond - something that indicates that the actress too will be spotted on the set soon. Anyway, check out the photo below!
