Jessica Jones: Showrunner and cast talk about Season 2

Great news for those who have enjoyed Jessica Jones Season 1! If you haven't heard, I mention it again. The series will return with Season 2 and Melissa Rosenberg is coming back as well. The release date is not known yet, but we look forward to finding it and revealing it to you.

Meanwhile we have details about the Netflix show from Melissa Rosenberg herself. Rosenberg and the cast have participated at  Television Critics Association’s 2016 where they discussed Jessica's evolution in Season 1 and what they are up to for Season 2. “I just want to continue with character. She’s a very damaged character, her damage goes beyond Kilgrave. There’s a lot to mine from in her backstory and in her present day situation, so I think we’ll find something,” the show-runner said.

So the story of dark and twisted Jessica Jones will go beyond the experience with Kilgrave, and Rosenberg explained how she really wanted to stick to Alias, the original source material. She expressed her wish to be as close as possible to the comics, but at the same time she admitted that it will not be entirely possible.

“Unfortunately, we’ve moved away from the mythology of the book. The MCU is very different from the comics in terms of its mythology. In the books there were things building towards Civil War and all that, and here that’s not the case. The nature of that is we’re probably not going to be able to continue to do parallel storylines, but I’ll always take as much as I can because it’s really just so good.”

Jessica Jones has more to offer

Jessica Jones Season 2 is in talks! Big time! Jessica Jones Season 2 is in talks! Big time!

I think that news couldn't be more exciting than this, and as a fan of Marvel's Jessica Jones series I cannot wait for Season 2.

But how the story is going to move on after Kilgrave's death that seemed to end Jessica's main goal? Star Krysten Ritter reveals that there is more to explore even after Kilgrave's death.

“For Jessica, that final moment, that victorious, triumphant moment when she killed Kilgrave, I found that very conflicting. He’s the reason why she got up every day. He’s the reason why she went out in the world, and it really gave her a purpose. I don’t think that the past trauma doesn’t go away with his death. Her head space is really complex.”

Regarding Trish (Patsy) Walker, Jessica's best friend, Rachel Taylor said that she didn't want to make assumptions as she had just found out about the renewal, but she expressed her feelings about being part of the Marvel Universe.

“But, of course, it would be amazing! It’s already a privilege to play a history that has so much lineage within the Marvel universe and to take it that one step further, is something that, yeah… I’d love to get my teeth stuck into whatever happens to the character.”

Do you look forward to seeing the next Jessica Jones season?
